About Us

 Hi, I’m Val Geisler, founder of My Pet is Best. Four years ago, I purchased a graphic design and print shop in upstate NY. Believe me, exchanging noise and traffic for quiet and cows took some time getting use to. But a new job and new puppy kept me busy. A month and a half before moving from Manhattan, I also bought a long-haired Chihuahua from Pet’s on Lex (not exactly a farm dog!). 

As months passed, everyone downstate wanted to know how the Farm Chihuahua was doing. So, I began sending holiday/event postcards from Monty telling all what life was like on the farm. OK, the start of summer isn’t really a holiday, but Monty celebrates it every year. (Anyone who spends the winter in upstate NY knows why). What I found interesting is that if I missed a holiday because the shop was busy, I received several phone calls from the list wanting to know why they didn’t get a card. And then, friends started to ask me if they could get notecards or mugs with their pet's photo on it.

 Let's face it, we're all crazy about our pets--short, long, old or young, they are ours and we love to show them off. I can't imagine anyone wanting a mug with a model pouch on it when they can have their own baby's photo displayed.
